This is the most problematic project I ever handle in this year. In fact, the project by itself is not so problematic, but ensuring the peoples doing the right thing at the first time is the most challenging task to me in the new working environment.
It is my mistake to be too optimistic. I always believe by nature peoples like to deliver the best product / service to their customers. May be due to too much of influence of Made In China, my Theory Y perception may gets wrong sometime.

2nd engineering prototype build : Assembly yield
Product qualification sample build : fail functional
Failure mode : internal short circuit due to assembly misalignment

The silly mistake from one person again has causing a big group of people rushing here and there to rebuild the qualification sample.
High machine stoppages during production line qualification
Failure mode : defective material from supplier
Root cause : Negligent

High rejection rate during pre-production ramp up
Failure mode : Tooling misalignment

My manager likes to ask me propose solution for preventing people from making silly mistake. Honestly, I don’t believe those error proof solutions effective to stop people from making error. Human being will continue to create problems if they don’t have the right attitude in their mind.
How about me ?
I do making mistake, but not often. Because I don’t treat myself as the company employee, whereas a business owner selling service to the company. I have to ensure myself always deliver the best quality service to my customer in order for me to sustain my business growth. I also want to position myself as a branded service provider, so that I can charge a branded price and my customer willing to pay for it.
Zero defect on all my daily activities is my target. I can control myself, but I can’t control people to do so.
